Difficulty Level
This page gives you some information regarding the difficulty level of the games at Dr Trilby’s Escape Rooms.
Q1. Is 'Murder Case: The Accused' the most challenging room at Dr Trilby's?
In terms of a tough test of all round puzzling, team work and brain power, we would say that ‘Murder Case – The Accused’ is the most difficult. You need to be focused and sharp as a team to escape within the hour AND correctly solve all aspects of the case, including identifying the true culprit.
If it’s a smaller team of 2 or 3 persons we will try to simplify the room for you.
If you’re Pro’s, let us know and we’ll keep all the elements in place.
We’ll be honest, this isn’t the best choice if you’ve had a couple of drinks and want a bit of a laugh; it requires focus and concentration.
You’re always given the option during the briefing, of how much help our game host should give. Please discuss this at that time in order to maximise your enjoyment. It’s extremely rare that any Escape Room is completed without hints from your Game Host, so please feel free to receive appropriate guidance where necessary.
Q2. Is 'Jo-Jo's Jungle Rescue' difficult?
This is a perfect game to choose for families with smaller children (we recommend primary school age or older but are happy with parental discretion on suitability). However, it’s not just challenging for kids – the adults will be tested too – it’s tough to complete all the challenges successfully and escape in one hour! In fact there must be one or two adults in the team (depending on group size) as a group of kids on their own would be very unlikely to do well.
We can simplify the room for smaller groups of 2 or 3, or on advice from parents.
Q3. What about 'Zone 13: The Zombie Trap'?
The difficulty of this room includes managing a whole range of challenges. It’s perhaps less of a test intellectually than the other rooms, however this room can prove to be tough on many different levels, and also requires focus under pressure, as well as a higher physical component.
Q4. How challenging is 'Meltdown: A Nuclear Nightmare'?
Meltdown: A Nuclear Nightmare is a great all round challenge which includes a degree of tension, problem solving, teamwork and mental dexterity.
As with all of our rooms, it’s a tough task to successfully escape within an hour, but if you get stuck you can ask for help at any time.
Q5. What if we don’t escape in time?
Each room has an intercom device behind the entrance door which you can press if you need a hint. Your Game Host will also be monitoring your progress and (unless advised otherwise) can help you back on track if you’re heading down the wrong path. Obviously, not every team will complete the adventure, but you should have fun along the way.
